Season's Greetings

It's Amber here today and I am so excited to kick off Christmas Cards week here at SP and Company! I do realize today is still September, but tomorrow is October and that is the official start of the holiday season right?! : )

I really liked the woodgrain effect I got from my last card that I had to make more using the Vintage October: Wooden it Be Nice set. I was hoping this panel would emulate a front door:

To make the wreath I used Poppy Field Summer. Yep, you read that right! I used the stamp shown below and only inked up the leafy portion in green as you can see below (never mind the stained flowers - there is not really ink on them).
I just repeatedly stamped that section in green while I slowly rotated my cardstock panel until I had a circle. I added some red glittter glue and ribbon and called it a wreath!

For the sentiment I used Ultimate Sentiments II and Mix n Match Sentiments Basics to create the banner.

I now have my first Christmas card of the year! I can almost smell the evergreen and hear the carols...

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you can make some cards this week and share them with us over in the gallery or on our facebook page. I'd love to see what you make!

Poppy Field FALL!

Yep, you read that title right.  Poppy Field SUMMER is becoming Poppy Field FALL in this post! Chrissie here today to show you a pretty Fall card I created with a simple Post It Note mask.

I stamped the Lovely Labels frame onto a Post It Note and I punched out the center circle.  Then I stamped it again onto my patterned paper.  I lined up the punched/open area on the Post It to the stamped image and then I stamped the image from Poppy Field Summer onto it.  By using the Post It, it 'masked' out the part of the image I didn't want and only the partial image showed up inside the framed.  Cool, huh? That extra step of creating the mask on the Post It is totally worth it! And if you want to see more samples of masking, HERE is a picture tutorial on Sami's site that shows how to mask, step by step!

After I stamped the image, I outlined the poppy with a gray marker, just to make it stand out a little bit.  Then, I simply added some twine and stamped the cute sentiment from Stitchery Doo Banners down at the bottom to complete the card.

I think the masked image along with the light outline really gives that poppy some pop!!! Thanks for stopping by today!!!

P.S. Don't forget to apply for the SP Design Team! The calls ends on the 30th of this month! Deets HERE!

Monster Mash, Anyone?

Hi!  It's Michelle here with you today.  Have I ever mentioned that I really like Halloween?  Ha, who am I kidding....that is a major understatement and if you have been hanging out around here with us lately, you already know that I LOVE Halloween!

My hubby keeps talking about having some of his work friends over soon, so I was thinking, why not a Halloween party?  And if you are going to have a party, you need invites, right?  Here is what I came up with....

I stamped the sign from Boutique Sign Mini on some patterned paper with black ink and trimmed it out with scissors.  It's cool, because it looks like some of the apothecary labels that you see on a lot of Halloween themed stuff.  The bat is die cut from black cardstock and I covered it in Black glitter glue to make it sparkle.

I inked up the word "Party" from one of the stamps from Bold Sentiments III: Birthdays and stamped it on a strip of patterned paper.  I trimmed around the bottoms of the words just to make it look a little more interesting.

Here is a closeup so you can see some of the sparkle on that little bat, and the spiders, which are punched from a strip of black cardstock.

Going to have to dig out that Halloween music and get the Monster Mash going!

Happy Stampin',

Michelle

Thinking of You

Amber here and I have finally started making some fall-themed cards! I love woodgrain papers but I run out so quickly. So what's a girl to do? Make her own, of course!

I took the Wooden It Be Nice background set and heat-embossed it in dark brown onto white cardstock (which I always have). Then I sponged on a medium brown ink over the entire card to complete the look.

I added some wide pale blue ribbon and Twinery Twine in Mandarin. To attach the twine I poked 5 holes at the top of the card, threaded the twine on a needle, and ran it through and around.

I punched a few leaves from yet more of my scrap papers (the same ones as my last card!). Finally, I added a sentiment from Bold Sentiments I and popped the doily with foam.

Now I have a seasonally appropriate card to use for multiple occasions! Thanks for stopping by today! Remember - you still have a few more days to apply to be on the SP and Company Design team! See details here.

Sympathy - Green Poppies

Hi, everyone!  It's Kelli here today with a sympathy card using the Poppy Field Summer stamp set.  I kept this relatively clean like I normally do with sympathy cards.  I stamped all three poppies at different heights mostly on the left side of the top layer.  I added a few poppies with the second generation stamping technique.  For that you'd ink up your stamp like normal, stamp it once on a scrap piece of paper and then stamp it the second time on your project.  This gives you a much lighter stamped image.  I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner in black ink to help it pop and show up over the second generation poppies.  I added some black satin ribbon to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Again, Chevron!!!!

Vicki here and I just have to laugh, I so enjoy using the Chevron image!  I think 80% of my cards for SP I have used this fun image.  Hey, that's okay - nothing wrong with getting a ton of use out of an image!

I used resist embossed technique for my background panel.  Makes a great masculine birthday card using the HB from Mustache Madness set, and some twine!

Thanks for stopping by~
