Bright & CAS

Hi all, Vera's here. As  you know, I am a fan of clean and simple design. However, I even though my card tend to be CAS I like to make them fun and interesting as well.

One way to do it is by using  bright colors and keeping the rest white. Even the simplest design can turn into fun design when you paired them up with fab, bright patterned paper.

For this card I am using Father's Day Fun Mini Stamp set and the patterned paper from Echo Park Dots & Stripes metropolitan 6x6 paper pad. The bright colors of the tie make the card more cheerful compare to if I have just use more muted colors. You really could change the feeling of the card, simply by changing the color combo that you use for the ties.

Please check  out our gallery for more fun inspiration from this set. Thanks so much for stopping by here and may your week starts off wonderfully.

Using a Crimper with Banners

Hi Everyone - Vicki here today.

Today, I was inspired by a Pinterest photo of crimped banners.  Very easy and fun to do, and it adds fabulous texture to your card.

Using Stitchery Doo Banners, stamp images on the  Echo Park Hello DP
Crimp the entire designer paper page
Cut out the crimped banners

And, here is the finished project:

I also used the fabulous 4 ply twine that Sami is selling now as my banner holder. (This is killer stuff!)  I also used more of the banners from the Stitchery Doo Banners set, popped them up with dimentionals, and used a circle punch for the Happy Day sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed the project today.  Now, dig out your crimper and get to crimping!

Pamper Yourself!

Hello everyone, Michelle here with you today with a cute little project for you.  Everybody loves candles, and they are one of my favorite "go to" gifts.  This year for Teacher Appreciation Week, the class has gone together on a spa gift card for my daughter's teacher.  I decided to make a candle to be wrapped with the gift card, just to make it more fun than handing her a gift card.

To make my candle wrap, I just cut a strip of patterned paper to fit around the candle.  Candles come in all different sizes, so you will just have to gauge yours to whatever candle you buy.

I cut a label with my Spellbinders Labels 14 die and stamped "Pamper Yourself" from the Awareness is Empowering stamp set in brown ink, and then inked up the edges a bit with the same ink.  Have to say again how much I love the versatility of that stamp set.  I have found so many different uses for it!  I added a couple of flowers to the label, with some little sticker gems for the centers, then popped the label up on some foam dimensional dots to really make it stand out.

So simple, and so cute!  The "Pamper Yourself" saying works perfectly for the spa gift card.

Happy Stamping,

Michelle

Using White Space

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. Vera's here sharing another bright cheerful card!

For me, there's just something about bright colors that draw me in. But, at the same time it's important not to let the bright colors overwhelm your design. The trick for me is to balance the brightness with lots of white space like this card below.

Supplies:
Patterned papers
Scallop punch

To match the sentiment on this card, I paper pieced the boots with cheery yellow polka dots patterned paper. Add  a bit of bright green and red to compliment the boots cheerfulness. I left the rest of the card white as this let the image and the sentiment stands out. I am a firm believer that white space add chicness to a design.

Thanks so much for stopping by here and enjoy your day. Cheers....

Vera

A Fun Gift for Dad... maybe

Hi everyone! Vicki here with a fun Father's Day gift, I bet it will be used too! Here is the finished project:

Everyone can use a pencil holder!
Told you it would get used! To make this fun project is so easy~

Start with a recycled can

Cover it with some burlap
Using tissue on scor tape make your own washi tape by

stamping Bold Houndstooth Background on the tissue

and to finish off the project,
Wrap the washi tape around the can and I also wrapped the awesome twine around about 4 times. Then using the perfect Mustache Madness stamp set, stamp the mustache (I used the svg for cutting) and one of the sentiments and adhere on to the can.  Your project is complete.  Make a card to go with it, and this year's Father's Day gift is done!

I hope you enjoyed today's project.  I am using mine already -- my son can get dad something else! :)

Sentiment Pop

Hi, everyone!  It's Kelli here today and I want to show you a fun way to get your sentiment to pop!  I used one of my favorite go-to stamp sets, For Every Woman, and used the 'Thanks for being you' sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment over and over in a light gray and then stamped one in a much brighter pink.  I love the look of this and I think it makes for a really fun background as well.  I added a strip of card stock to the background and cut some banner ends and added some pearls to finish it off.

Here's a better view of the sentiment and little butterfly accent.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

A Clean and Simple Card

Hi Everyone,

My name is Nanette and Sami has graciously invited me to be a guest designer for today. If you are anything like me, you struggle to find time to get crafting done. I find that work gets in the way of me having fun! LOL! So, since a lot of us struggle with time, I thought I would do a very clean and simple card. I got this idea on SplitcoastStampers. It's a great place to get some fresh ideas.

Here are the supplies I used:

Supplies: A2 Card Base
                 4" x 5-1/4" Yellow Mat
                 3-7/8" x 5-3/16" Green Mat
                 3-3/4" x 5"  White Mat
                 Embossing Folder
SP & Company Stitchery Doo Stamp Set
SP & Company Just a Note Stamp Set
Versa Magic Tea Leaves Ink for the stitching
Memento Bamboo Leaves for the sentiment
                 Piece of white ribbon
                 Viva Decor Pearl Pen (yellow)
                 ATG Gun

First off, I embossed the smallest mat with the Cuttlebug folder. Then I used the straight stitches from the Stitchery Doo stamp set and stamped around the embossed flowers. Next I stamped A Note for You sentiment from the Just a Note stamp set. I do have to say that Sami's stamps are great to stamp with...Nice crisp images. They also adhere to my block very nicely. Here's what it looks like so far.

Now, adhere your stamped piece to the mats and then the card base.

Finally, I attached my bow to look like it wraps around the flower stems then I used my Viva Decor Pearl Pen to put pearls inside the flowers and below the sentiment (I just don't think I am capable of making a card without some kind of bling). I love these Pearl Pens. I have a whole bunch of colors and I like how I can make any size pearl I need. I also add the pearls as the VERY last step because they do take a little while to dry. I try to remember to put the card up out of the way. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten they weren't quite dry and then I would smash a pearl...not fun!

Anyways, I hope you were able to follow my directions. Here is my finished card.

Feel free to stop by and visit my blog, Nanette's Card Creations. I don't have a lot on there yet but I hope you like what you see.

Thanks Sami for this opportunity to share!

Flowers in my Pocket!

Hi! Chrissie here today and I want to share a really fun card I made with you today.  It's really unique and all it took were some SP & Company stamps, a punch and some creativity!

First, I pulled out a flower punch and punched several flowers out of yellow paper.

You can use any old flower punch you have - no need to use the same one.  Anything will do!!!

To make the flowers look real, I take a stylus and roll it around the flower.  This gives them a bit of a 3D element and makes them more realistic!

I added some glitter glue in the middle, but you can add bling, buttons or anything else your heart desires!

Look at all of those flowers!!!! My idea was to have them flowing out of a pocket, so I used the pocket stamp from All Zipped Up to achieve this.  Don't forget that there is a coordinating SVG to go along with this stamp!!!

Once I had my pocket stamped and cut out, I adhered it to some Kraft stock.  I sprayed some opaque paint on it first, just to spruce up the background a little bit!

I started stacked my flowers onto the card base and moved them around to look like they were spilling out.

For the finishing touch, I die cut a banner and added in the adorable sentiment from Stitchery Doo Banners.

So much fun - a pocket instead of a vase!!!! Thanks for stopping by today!

A Useful Gift

Vicki here and today, I have a basic ABC (anything but a card) project - a Bookmark.  I love making bookmarks and mailing them with a birthday card -- just a small gift, that most people will actually use!

I did an emboss resist technique with this bookmark.  I don't have any photos of the steps, but I am sure you can figure it out by my directions:

1. Stamp images ( I used the fun, new Stitchery Doo Banners) in Versamark and emboss with white.

2. Using a sponge dauber, I sponged on green, blue and orange, and then in black ink, I stamped the circles.

3. Stamp the Happy Day banner, cut out and popped up with dimensionals.

4 Using some ribbon and Sami's new twine I made my top.

All done and ready to go into a card and get mailed~ :)

On a quick side note, the twine that Sami is carrying is fabulous!  I felt the thickness and wondered why the other twine I have wasn't such quality.... hmmm.  I highly recommend this twine!  Just sayin..

Thanks for stopping by~
