Skip the Bag and Make a Wine Tag!

Hello SP fans, it's Michelle here with you today!  Hopefully you all enjoyed your long weekend?  I definitely did.  Great BBQ, fabulous weather, good times!  Ready to get back to some stamping with me?  Good, I thought so.

Today I am sharing a really beautiful, and simple way to dress up those wine bottles.  Whenever we go to parties, I usually take the host/hostess a bottle of wine.  I love making these wine tags to decorate the bottles.  Sure beats a wine bag, you can make it at home, and of course you can fancy it up however you want!

To start, I cut a piece of cardstock to be 3" x 6".

For the hole at the top of the tag, you can use a circle punch, if you have one in a size that will work.  If not, the lid from a 2 Liter soda bottle works perfectly!  Just trace the lid, then poke a hole in the middle of the circle with your scissors and trim it out.

When your hole is trimmed out, score a line just below the opening, to make your fold line.  Now the fun part.  Decorate it!

For mine, I picked some patterned papers from Authentique.  I stamped the top hat from the Father's Day Fun Mini stamp set with some black ink on a gray textured paper.  Then I stamped the same image separately on a light pink paper, trimmed out just the band and paper pieced it on the main image.  Mounted the hat with a foam dimensional dot to make it stand out.  The strip with the decorative trim was cut from the same paper as the tag base.

The sentiment "Celebrate" is from the Cutest Gingerbread Man stamp set.  It actually says "Celebrate the Season", but I only inked the word "Celebrate" and stamped it on my tag.

Here is one final picture of the tag on an actual bottle...
